Motorola Droid A855
I love my OG Motorola Droid A855 (Sholes). I also love Android 2.2.2 (Froyo).
Getting a stable phone has been hard for me, as my friends can attest.
Right now I am running Sourcery v2.2 and hoping it will continue to stay stable.
Installation
- Install Motorola Device Manager 2.3.4 which will install device drivers for the phone into Windows XP.
- Install RSD Lite 5.6 in order to load the latest SPRecovery into the phone.
- The phone should previously be rooted.
- Boot into the bootloader by holding down 'power' and 'up' on the navigation pad for a few seconds.
- Run RSD Lite. Clicking 'Show Device' should show the phone once it is connected via USB.
- Load SPRecovery 0.99.3b and click 'Start'. The phone will reboot after the update is complete. It may or may not succesfully reboot.
- Pull the battery out of the phone. Run SPRecovery by holding down 'power' and 'x' on the keyboard.
- Copy Sourcery v2.2 to the SD card after renaming it 'update.zip'. Clear all data from the phone and update the phone with the new ROM.
